To the girls who hate their bodies

24th January, 2021.

No matter how we look, others, at times our own families, convince us that something is improper with the way we look.

Dear Girls,

From a young age, we are taught to look a specific way, the way society approves of us.

"Tall, fair, and lean" and if you don't conform with their ideals of beauty then you're ridiculed in numerous ways.

"Use that cream it'll make your skin color white"

"Don't munch junk you are already so fat"

"Stop consuming like a bird you are so thin"

"Eat your proteins you are so short"

"Why are you so tall, who will marry you now"

No matter how we look, others, at times our own families, convince us that something is improper with the way we look. It's like anything is satisfactory but you.

Growing up I had a love-hate relationship with my body. I battled to accept myself. I endlessly compared myself to others not realizing how I'm allowing everything to get to me. Until one day I promised to embrace myself. Every day I get up and tell myself I'm beautiful just the way I am.

So here's me telling you that your body is flawless the way it is. You are gorgeous in your extraordinary ways.

Your stretch marks make you more of a human. It's a sign that you're breathing in this world. Embrace it.

Your braces don't make your smile any less perfect. You don't need to hide your crooked teeth. Your smile is the brightest.

The scars on your face are the evidence of your life on the planet earth.

You're not too tall or short for anyone. Just enough for yourself.

There is nothing too thin or too fat. Just being special in our ways.

Curvy or not, you are glorious.

and yes, your body is a blessing girl.

You are beautiful.

You are beautiful.

You are beautiful.
